SAO and Supreme Public Prosecutor’s Office to intensify mutual cooperation; Collaboration Agreement was adopted

At the Supreme Public Prosecutor´s Office in Brno, President of the Supreme Audit Office (SAO) Mr. Miloslav Kala and Supreme Public Prosecutor Mr. Pavel Zeman signed a collaboration agreement. The Agreement aims at intensification of mutual cooperation of both the institutions.

In the Collaboration Agreement, both institutions pledged to share information related to the other side´s mission. In case of need, representatives and staff members of the SAO will act as consultants in criminal proceedings. The Agreement also stipulates periodical meetings of representatives of both institutions as well as mutual training activities focused on the fields related to their jobs.

The Agreement between the SAO and the Supreme Public Prosecutor´s Office follows from long-term cooperation of both the institutions. Since spring 2013, the SAO and the Supreme Public Prosecutor´s Office have collaborated in a working group, which aims at so called "solar business". On June 20, 2013, the SAO and the Supreme Public Prosecutor´s Office organized a seminar entitled "Protection of the EU and CR´s financial interests". During the seminar, attendants shared experience related to facts of selected criminal cases and criminal complaints filed by the SAO.

"The Agreement will intensify the current cooperation between the SAO and the Supreme Public Prosecutor´s Office. We pay close attention to the issue of photovoltaic power plants. There are even more complex problems, for example IT commissions and EU funds management. We would like to focus our efforts towards those topics as well", said president of the SAO Miloslav Kala. "Our institutions have different objectives, but it is essential to share the experience and knowledge gained through our activities. Thus, the efficiency of our work will increase", said Supreme Public Prosecutor Pavel Zeman.
